As everywhere the roads are narrow and busy. It was possible to walk or take a short motorbike ride to the local shops, restaurants, and there was a good variety of them around. Travelling a bit further, there were beaches to visit and places of interest but the joy for me was that the community was friendly and it was not a major tourist area.

Don't go there if your idea of a beach holiday is to sit on a beach chair under a sunshade with a drink and a book, and occasionally splash a bit in the water. Uluwatu was such a relaxing and vibrant area with so many different activities. Whether you're looking forward tranquility, beaches, temples, restaurants/bars or waves for surfing - you'll find it. Such a great mix of things to do and Uluwatu will live you happy regardless of what you prefer to do on holiday. A totally different vibe from other areas of Bali and I'd definitely recommend spending some time here if you have the chance.

Uluwatu should be on your itinerary when traveling to Bali! It is a lovely place with a good vibe and perfect for surfing. We stayed at Ikigai, which is a lovely small resort. There were a lot of good restaurants and shops in the area. We were now there for 3 full days. Uluwatu have a great atmosphere. We liked also beautiful coffees and restaurants there. Padang Padang and Dreamland beach was really nice. Maybe we were not lucky to see the beauty of Suluban beach, but for us it is overrated if you do not surf.PejkovaSlovakia

They also offered us an upgrade of the room when we arrived. The room was very big, with king size bed, kitchen area and bathroom with shower and tub. Despite the hotel is very big, the atmosphere was calm and quiet, the staff was super nice and kind and the restaurant inside offered good meals, especially the Double Ikat, the one dedicated to Balinese cuisine, excellent! The breakfast was excellent as well, offering both continental and eastern options.

They are situated in a good location and easy to reach the centre of Uluwatu by foot (10 min walk) or a motorbike or a car. The closest beach where you can spend time near the ocean not so far but you can climb 100 steps down and up when you return. For me is easy but you just to know about it. To the other beach, you can go by car or motorbike but it's the usual way and the most common in Bali.

The family who runs it is lovely. I'm definitely going to stay there for at least a couple nights every time I go to Bali. I also like the hammocks.
